Tracy Reese -

Graduating with a B.A from Parsons School of Design in 1984, Tracy Reese has had a profile worthy rise to becoming a fashion designer with a succession of brands that transcend cultural and socioeconomical lines which sometimes pigeonhole designers.
Reese initially started her line in 1987 with financial backing from her father and although the line made it into such high end stores such as Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman, production costs were just too high and Reese had to close down the line in 1989. However, the mere success of producing a line of clothing at the age of 23 that could be sold in stores with the reputation of the two mentioned proved that greatness was only around the corner. Reese then went onto work for several more established designers and brands (Perry Ellis, Magaschoni, etc.) to learn the business aspect of running a design company and further establish herself as a mainstay in the fashion industry.
There was Tracy Reese for Magaschoni and then Tracy Reese Meridian, a contemporary sportswear line backed by the Limited. Once securing independent financial backing Tracy Reese Meridan became simply Tracy Reese.
And now there is Tracy Reese, Tracy Reese Black Label, Plenty by Tracy Reese, Plenty Home, and Frock! by Tracy Reese.
